How To Run An Efficient Family Business?

In Coffee with an Expert series, an initiative of Young TEA, Episode 4 was held yesterday at Padmashri. Dr. A. Sakthivel Auditorium. Shri. Samish Dalal, Professor, S.P. Jain School of Global Management participated and delivered Keynote Address on “HOW TO RUN AN EFFICIENT FAMILY BUSINESS”. Honorary Chairman Padmashri Dr. A. Sakthivel, President K.M.Subramanian, Vice President  V. Elangovan, General Secretary  N. Thirukkumaran, Joint Secretary  T. Chinnasamy Executive Committee Members  R. Sakthivel,  Prem Agarwal,  Deepak K Chedda, K. Hari Prakash, L. Pradeep Kumar and Special Invitee M.R. Ramesh took part in the meeting.

Chairman of Young TEA Sub Committee  A.S. Dinesh delivered the Welcome Address.

TEA President  K.M. Subramanian honored the Chief Guest with a Shawl and General Secretary  N. Thirukkumaran presented a memento to the Speaker.

In his presidential Address, K.M. Subramanian introduced  Samiah Dalal as an accomplished Professor who has dedicated his career to teaching and training individuals from diverse backgrounds. He said that Dalal has exceptional skills in presentation, communication and interpersonal relation and has delivered over 250 speeches and published a number of valuable papers recognized by prestigious institutions worldwide. He further said that lectures would be helpful in bridging the generation gap within the family and thereby successfully conduct the family business. 

How To Run An Efficient Family Business?

Samish Dalal in his address elaborated on how to effectively run a Family Business with examples drawn from different parts of the world. He said that the success of the Family Business stands on Three pillars –

  • Adapting to Differentiation
  • Avoiding the words “I told you so”
  • Decision making based on Affordable Loss

His interaction with the audience was interesting and informative. After the speech, he clarified the queries raised by the members.

TEA Honorary Chairman Dr. A. Sakthivel, in his Special Address congratulated the team of Young TEA for successfully conducting the Coffee with an Expert meetings with renowned speakers such as Shri. Samish Dalal. He further said that, like himself, all entrepreneurs should give equal importance to the Family and Business and strictly adhering to ones Values is the Mantra for success in Family Business.
