Bharat Tex 2025 Participation

India’s Biggest Textile Trade Event Sees Record Participation from Over 110 Countries

New Delhi, February 14, 2025: Bharat Tex 2025 opened today with a grand inauguration at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, led the event in the presence of dignitaries and international buyers from more than 110 countries. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s 5F vision—Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign—the exhibition is a testament to India’s growing dominance in the global textile and apparel sector.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, attended by key government officials, including Minister of State for Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, Secretary Textiles Ms. Neelam Shami Rao, and Additional Secretary Shri Rohit Kansal. The event aims to position India as a sustainable and innovative leader in textiles, with a strong emphasis on circularity, eco-friendly practices, and digitization.

Japan Leads Apparel Buyers’ Presence

Speaking at the event, Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), highlighted the overwhelming response from global buyers. “Bharat Tex 2025 celebrates India’s successful textile partnerships, with participation from more than 110 countries. Japan leads the list of apparel buyers at the event, followed by the UAE, Iran, the USA, Spain, the UK, South Africa, Russia, and Australia,” he noted.

The exhibition has drawn top retail chains and brands, strengthening India’s position as a trusted global sourcing hub. Prominent brands in attendance include Apparel Group (UAE), Primark Stores Ltd (Ireland), Adastria Co. Ltd (Japan), Idkids (France), Melon Fashion Group (Russia), Al Safeer Group (UAE), Tatuum Group (Poland), Soho D.o.o (Croatia), Nesto Group (UAE), Hotel Shops (Mexico), One Brand Apparel (USA), Chic Parisien (Uruguay), Lola Casademunt (Spain), Castro (Israel), and Queens Park (South Africa).

A Platform for Sustainability and Innovation

Chairman AEPC emphasized the event’s strong focus on sustainability. “Sustainability is now the driving force in the global textile industry, and Bharat Tex 2025 is committed to promoting eco-friendly practices. The expo showcases cutting-edge innovations, including organic fabrics, recycled materials, and energy-efficient production technologies,” he said.

Bharat Tex 2025 also serves as a catalyst for the Indian textile industry’s shift toward a globally engaged, future-ready approach. “Once constrained by an inward-looking mindset, India’s textile sector is now thriving with confidence and synergy on the global stage,” Shri Sekhri added.

Global Trade and Future Prospects

The four-day mega event features:

  • Exhibitions and Product Demonstrations showcasing India’s textile capabilities across the value chain
  • Knowledge Sessions and Thematic Discussions on industry trends and trade opportunities
  • G2G and B2B Meetings facilitating business networking and global partnerships
  • Strategic MoUs and Collaborations expected to boost foreign investments and joint ventures
  • Interactive Pavilions and Masterclasses by experienced artisans and industry experts

With an expected footfall of over 120,000 visitors and 6,000+ international buyers, Bharat Tex 2025 is set to establish itself as a premier international trade platform. Covering the entire textile value chain—including fiber, yarn, fabrics, garments, home textiles, and technical textiles—the expo is a major milestone in India’s textile industry roadmap.

As the global demand for sustainable and high-quality apparel grows, Bharat Tex 2025 marks a significant step toward reinforcing India’s position as a leader in textile exports and innovation.
